Dear Fellow JRs,
Not much of attendance taking - just me, Garfield and a couple hundreds of monkeys. It was another saturday morning ride for us except that we decided to take some photos to showcase what BT Trail has to offer besides monkey crap and errant hikers.
The unidirectional 6.5km-loop embraces the perimeter of BT Nature reserve with firetrails, sudden declines/inclines and a breath-taking view of the defunct Quarry. XC, trail riders, downhillers would have a fair share of fun and adrenaline on this eco-centric trail. Fringe dwellers - monkeys, squirrels, monitor lizards, exotic flights - are your constant companions on this ride.
- Posing for attendance-taking at the trail head. Satu, Dua.
- The rock garden guarding the trail entrance - affectionately known as The Centipede.
- Mock-up of a wrong move.
- Garfield grinding the 30% incline that greets you after you entered the trail - the only cemented one. Granny is optional.
- Beer King thundered through the downhill that follows.
- And another downhill that helps to power up a closely followed 35% incline.
- The 0.9km after the roller-coaster of inclines and downhills.
- Garfield skewering the Dragon's month.
- A follow-through by Beer King after the Dragon's month. No brakes for the 25% downhill stretch.
- The Signboard before Quarry View. Plus the usual Do and Donts.
- Beer King attempting a hooked incline - the last uphill before Quarry View.
- A push-down section before the Quarry View which Garfield was going to ride down.
- Garfield's controlled roll on this snaking downhill with a rocky spine at the end. Quarry View awaits...
- A well-deserved break at the Echo Valley straddling between the Quarries.
- A 15m 30% incline after Echo Valley. Garfield's "happy section"
- Not all are wicked inclines and downhills.. Firetrails dominates.
- Best part of the ride for Garfield. A short 30-m stair-climb before powering through a firetrail and turning right into a winding downhill stretch and finally exiting the Trail.
(Photos are missing for now.....pls be patient)
We challenge you to unsaddle from your weekend routine and join the JR MTB for this Saturday's ride(31 Oct).
Regards,
Beer King Joshua and Garfield Liow
